The construction of St. Petersburg Flood Protection Barrier has been completed.
St. Petersburg Flood Protection Barrier is put into operation. Work on the structure began in 1979, but construction was suspended in 1987 and resumed in 2006.
Utilization of the modern materials and technologies enabled to reschedule completion of the construction from 2014 to August 2011.
Total project cost amounts to 109.3 billion rubles. Project implementation involved both Russian and foreign contractors.
LENMORNIIPROEKT participated in the dam design since 1984. It was initially supposed to design so-called ‘sliding type’ gate. LENMORNIIPROEKT proposed a principally new type of construction distinguishing by high reliability in extreme operating conditions in comparison with other proposals.
In 1987 LENMORNIIPROEKT has been appointed General Designer of navigation passes C 1 and C-2 in the specified design limits, passing through the dams D-3 D-4 and D-7 D-8.
In August 12, 2011 Prime Minister Vladimir Putin unveiled the last part of the ring-road - an underwater tunnel as a part of protective structures complex.
The tunnel is constructed under water and the basement of C-1 navigation pass of Flood Protection Barrier. Length of the tunnel is about 2 kilometers, it provides 6 traffic lines.
For the present day construction of St. Petersburg Flood Protection Barrier is officially completed.

Design and survey work for the Sabetta Seaport Project on the Yamal Peninsula
LENMORNIIPROEKT and Yamal LNG signed the Contract for survey work and project documentation development for the Sabetta Seaport Project on the Yamal Peninsula. Project includes construction of navigation approach channel in the Ob Bay (preparatory period facilities, basic port infrastructure).
Sabetta seaport will be constructed within the frameworks of Yamal LNG Project which also includes construction of the ice class tanker fleet and liquefied natural gas plant (LNG). Plant maximum capacity is planned to reach 15 million tons of liquefied natural gas and up to 1 million tons of gas condensate per year.
Investors of the project are the Russian company Novatek and French company Total.

Appointment of the new General director of LENMORNIIPROEKT
By resolution of the Board of Directors of LENMORNIIPROEKT, dated 14.06.2011, Alexander G. Batyunya has been relieved from his position as General director.
Igor M. Rusu has been appointed General director of LENMORNIIPROEKT effective 15.06.2011.

LENMORNIIPROEKT won the tender for design documentation development for the dry cargo area of the Taman Seaport
LENMORNIIPROEKT was announced the winner of the tender for design of the dry cargo area of the Taman Seaport which is included in the Federal Target Program “Development of Russian Transport System in 2010-2015”.
The main aim of the project is the creation of the new deepwater seaport on the Taman Peninsula, integrated into the “North-South” ITC and supplementing the port facilities created in the Azov-Black Sea basin.
Turnover of the new port is projected to reach 66 million tons in 2025. Cargo nomenclature - containers, coal, grain, fertilizers, sulfur, Ro-Ro cargoes, iron ore concentrate. Design period: 2011-2012.

At the German Embassy in Moscow was held a retirement celebration for Klaus Muller, the representative of the partner company Tenova TAKRAF - the main equipment for cargo transshipment terminals developer.
Tenova TAKRAF holds one of the leading positions in the field of development, planning, design, manufacture and supply of machines and technological plants of all kind, in particular plants, systems and equipment in the area of open cast mining and bulk materials handling.
LENMORNIIPROEKT and Tenova TAKRAF keep long-term business relationship. The company is a supplier of specialized equipment for Ust-Luga coal terminal, Tuapse bulk terminal and other projects.
Chief Project Engineer P.A. Tikhomolov presented Klaus Muller a souvenir - the first map of the St. Petersburg Marine Channel.

LENMORNIIPROEKT participated in the 10th International Exhibition Transtech-2010

LENMORNIIPROEKT participated in the 10th International Exhibition Transtech-2010 “ Port transport and transit in Russia” and “ Future of Russian Ports” Conference.
At the Conference plenary session General Director of LENMORNIIPROEKT, Alexander G. Batyunya, made a report “Experience and prospects of Russian design business in marine transport construction development” addressing problems of the integrated port design.
Within the frameworks of the exhibition was held the 125th anniversary celebration of LENMORNIIPROEKT with the participation of representatives of government agencies, companies working in the field of marine transport, partners and friends of LENMORNIIPROEKT.

LENMORNIIPROEKT 125 years in the field of sea transport facilities design
LENMORNIIPROEKT is celebrating a glorious anniversary - 125 years since foundation.LENMORNIIPROEKT is a historical successor to the Interim Commission for construction of Commercial ports established in June 12, 1885 (New Style June 25) upon representation made by Admiral K.N. Posiet.

LENMORNIIPROEKT was appointed General Designer of the seaport in Teriberka Bay
According to the results of the tender conducted by Gazprom Dobycha Shelf LENMORNIIPROEKT was appointed General Designer of the seaport in Teriberka Bay in the Barents Sea.
Port will be designed for shipment of liquefied natural gas produced in the Stokman field. Investor of the project is Giprospecgaz. The Contract has been signed by the parties in February 25, 2010.
The peculiar feature of the port is difficult climatic, geological and hydrological conditions in Teriberka Bay.
LENMORNIIPROEKT participated in development of analogous project at Prigorodnoye village in the south of Sakhalin Island, where in February 2009 the first Russian liquefied natural gas plant has been put into operation.
