A historic predecessor of LENMORNIIPROEKT, the Interim Commission for Construction of Commercial Ports was established under the Ministry of Communications upon representation made by the Minister of Communications, Adjutant General K.N. Posiet to Emperor Alexander III on 24th June 1885. The first program for development of the Russian communication lines drawn up at that time comprised reconstruction of 17 existing ports and construction of 6 new ones. |
