The channels and locks

The channels and locks

According to the projects of the institute, locks on the Keitele-Paijanne channel (Finland) are constructed. 5 locks, adapted to various geotechnical conditions are constructed. Water level differences in locks - from 2.5 up to 8.0m. The general water level difference on the channel route – 21.15м. Overall dimensions of locks – 110.0x16.0x4.0m.

Specialists of JSC Lenmorniiproekt developed scientifically grounded designs of the navigable pass "A complex of protective constructions of St. Petersburg from floods":

  • "S-1" construction - for the sea vessels access, with a mark on a threshold - 16 m and 200 m navigable flight wide, blocked by a floating two-fold lock (a segment type leaf- watergate of an original design), with a road tunnel under the sea channel;
  • "S-2" construction - for the river-marine vessels access, with depth on a threshold - 7 m and 110 m navigable flight wide, blocked by a plane gate, with the lifting highway bridge.

The ferroconcrete abutments of locks take loads from gate, blocking vessel passes S-1 and S-2, and also guide walls, well-docks, downstream walls and shock-absorbing devices on the walls and the gate for the aperture covering are designed.

During the project developing the original, "know-how", design of a wide-span floating lock both in object as a whole, and in its separate parts was constructed.

Vehicular traffic on "S-1" construction is provided by the road tunnel under the sea channel, and on "S-2" construction – by the lifting highway bridge.
